WHAT TO EXPECT
What your under-eye will actually show - and when.
The peri-ocular area responds more gradually than the rest of the face. Here is what consistent daily use delivers at each stage - specifically, not generically.
FROM DAY ONE
Morning puffiness reduces.
The roller applicator provides immediate cooling on contact, which reduces puffiness. The Hyaluronic Acid plumps the under-eye area on first application. The gel-cream absorbs fully in 30 seconds — no film, no residue, no milia risk from day one. The under-eye area feels hydrated, not tight or heavy.
All dark circle types — immediate puffiness and hydration effect
WEEK 2 - 4
Fine lines softer. Tone starts to brighten.
Fine lines and crow’s feet begin to soften as Retinol at 0.3% accelerates cell turnover. The under-eye skin texture improves. For Type 1 dark circles (pigmentation-type, most common in Indian skin), the brownish discolouration starts to lighten at the edges — this is the Niacinamide inhibiting melanosome transfer in the peri-ocular zone.
Type 1 dark circles — pigmentation lightening begins (most common in Indian skin)
MONTH 2 ONWARDS
Skin firmer. Dark circles measurably reduced.
The Fensebiome™ peptide strengthens the peri-ocular barrier over time — the skin around the eye becomes thicker and less transparent. Type 1 dark circle reduction is more pronounced. For Type 2 (vascular), the skin thickening makes blood vessels less visible beneath. Crepey texture continues to improve. The cumulative effect of Retinol-driven cell turnover becomes structural.

Why most eye creams disappoint
Most eye creams are a moisturiser repackaged for a smaller area.
The skin around the eye is the thinnest on the face. It has no sebaceous glands. It responds differently. Most eye creams do not account for this.
Most eye creams
A face moisturiser in different packaging
- Generic peptides not studied specifically for peri-ocular application — repurposed from face formulations
- Heavy emollients that can block the fine follicles around the eye, causing milia
- Retinol avoided entirely because formulating it safely for the under-eye requires more development cost
- Broad dark circle claims without distinguishing the three types that respond to topicals differently
Juhst Illume Radiance
Formulated for the peri-ocular area specifically
- Fensebiome™ Peptide (Acetyl Heptapeptide-4) - clinically studied for peri-ocular application, not repurposed from a face formula
- Retinol at 0.3% (EU regulatory maximum) formulated with Vitamin E and Ceramides to make it tolerable for the most sensitive skin on the face
- Gel-cream texture that absorbs fully without milia risk - no occlusive emollients blocking peri-ocular follicles
- Honest dark circle guidance: we tell you which type responds to topicals and which does not, before you buy
WHAT IS IN IT — AND WHY
Six actives. Each earns its place.
Each active was chosen for what it does at the peri-ocular area specifically. No repurposed face product actives.
Fensebiome™ Peptide
1%Peri-ocular barrier + microbiome
Clinically studied for peri-ocular application - not repurposed from a face serum. Reinforces the skin microbiome, strengthens barrier function, and reduces inflammation in the under-eye area where skin is thinnest.
Retinol
0.3% EU MaxCell turnover + collagen synthesis
EU regulatory maximum for face retinol. Formulated with Vitamin E and Ceramides to make it tolerable for the most sensitive skin on the face. Accelerates cell turnover, stimulates collagen synthesis, reduces hyperpigmentation. Rare in an eye cream because this requires more formulation work.
Ceramides
1%Barrier integrity
The under-eye area lacks sebaceous glands and cannot produce its own natural oils. Ceramides directly restore barrier integrity in this thin, compromised skin. They also help the skin tolerate the Retinol in the formula - a deliberate pairing.
Niacinamide
1%Tone + pigmentation
At 1% for the under-eye area - lower than in face products because peri-ocular skin is thinner and more responsive. Inhibits melanosome transfer in the peri-ocular zone. Brightens and evens tone. Addresses pigmentation-type dark circles directly.
Sodium Hyaluronate
LMW 1%Deep hydration
Low molecular weight. Penetrates the thin under-eye skin effectively. Deeply hydrates and plumps the under-eye area - reducing the appearance of fine lines caused by dehydration, which is very common in this area.
Vitamin E
ANTIOXIDANTProtection + retinol support
Antioxidant protection for the peri-ocular area against UV and environmental damage. Also actively reduces the irritation potential from the Retinol in the formula - the two actives are formulated together deliberately for this reason.

THE INSIDE-OUT SYSTEM
Illume Radiance works better with the collagen.
Illume Radiance addresses the peri-ocular surface. Collagen Wellness Elixir rebuilds the dermal collagen that makes the skin around the eye thicker and less transparent - working from within at the dermis level.

APPLICATION
How to use Illume Radiance
01
After serum
Apply Illume Radiance after your serum has absorbed (60 seconds after Serum Trinité). The under-eye area is the last topical step before moisturiser on the rest of the face.
02
Apply with care
Half a pea-sized amount for both eyes. Use the included roller applicator or your ring finger (least pressure of any finger). Pat gently — never rub. This is the most delicate skin on the face.
03
Then moisturise
Apply Hydréme to the rest of the face. In the morning, always finish with SPF — Retinol increases cell turnover and new skin benefits from UV protection.
QUESTIONS
Frequently asked
Type 1 (pigmentation): brownish or purple-brown, visible even when well-rested. Often runs in families. More common in Indian skin. Type 2 (vascular): bluish or purple, more prominent when tired, from blood vessels showing through thin skin. Type 3 (structural): shadows from hollowness, looks different in different lighting, persists regardless of sleep. If your dark circles are brownish and visible regardless of sleep, they are most likely Type 1 — the type Illume Radiance addresses most directly.
No — Illume Radiance contains Retinol. All retinoids are avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding as a precautionary measure. Consult your doctor before use. This is standard practice for any retinoid-containing product, not an indication of harm at the concentrations used.
Three mechanisms: (1) 0.3% is the EU regulatory maximum - effective without excess; (2) Vitamin E in the formula actively reduces retinol-associated irritation; (3) Ceramides support the barrier so the skin can tolerate the active. These three actives are formulated together deliberately. If you have found retinol harsh before, this formulation is gentler by design. The peri-ocular formulation requires this care - it is why most eye cream brands avoid retinol entirely. Juhst does the formulation work because the evidence for retinol at the right dose is strong.
Yes. The gel-cream texture absorbs fully without leaving a film. The Retinol at 0.3% accelerates cell turnover, which actively helps prevent milia formation. The formula contains no heavy occlusive emollients that block the fine peri-ocular follicles — the primary cause of eye cream-induced milia.
After serum, before moisturiser. Apply after Serum Trinité has absorbed (60 seconds). Half a pea-sized amount, patted gently with ring finger or the roller applicator. Follow with Hydréme for the rest of the face. Always SPF in the morning.
